Connect Google Search Console

Connecting Search Console brings your real clicks, impressions, queries and pages into CrawlTide, and gives the keyword, content and AI features better data to work with.

Connect

  1. Open your project and go to Site Audit → Search Console (or the project's Settings).
  2. Click Connect and sign in with the Google account that has access to the site in Search Console.
  3. Approve read-only access. CrawlTide can view your Search Console data but can't change anything.

Choose the property

After signing in you'll see every property that Google account can access. The one matching your project's site is listed first, and you can search when there are many (useful for agencies with lots of clients).

Click the property you want to select it, then click Connect at the bottom of the list.

Domain or URL-prefix? A domain property (sc-domain:example.com) covers every subdomain and both http and https. Pick it when it's available; otherwise pick the URL-prefix property that matches how your site is served (for example https://www.example.com/).

Troubleshooting

  • The property isn't in the list: the Google account you signed in with doesn't have access to it. Ask the site owner to add that account as a user in Search Console, then reconnect.
  • No data yet: new Search Console properties can take a few days to collect data.
  • Connected to the wrong property: disconnect in the project's Settings, then connect again and pick the right one.
