AI Answer Readiness Checker
See if a single page is structured to win direct answers in ChatGPT, Perplexity, and AI Overviews
How it works
No black box. Here's exactly what AI Answer Readiness Checker checks.
- 1
You give us a page (and optionally a query)
A page on your site, plus optionally the question you want it to answer in ChatGPT/Perplexity/AI Overviews.
- 2
We score 9 extraction signals
Concise lead answer, descriptive headings, FAQ structure, definition pattern, scannability, entity clarity, trust signals, query alignment, content depth.
- 3
You get a 0–100 readiness score
Plus a fix list specific to AI extraction — not regular SEO.
- 4
Re-run after fixes
Each high-priority fix should move the score by 5–15 points. Watch the number climb.
Why this matters
AI engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews don't pick citations the way Google picks search results. They scan candidate pages looking for content they can confidently extract as a quotable answer to the user's prompt. Pages structured around extraction win those citations. Pages structured around prose lose, even when the prose is better.
- AI engines preferentially extract from short lead paragraphs, FAQ blocks, and clearly-labeled sections.
- A page with the same content but rewritten as questions and bulleted answers will get cited more often than the same content as long paragraphs.
- Author + date + outbound source links matter more for AI citation than for ranking — engines verify the source before quoting.
- This is "Answer Engine Optimization" (AEO) or "Generative Engine Optimization" (GEO) — different discipline from classic SEO.
