Free Link Authority Tool

Website Authority Checker

Look up any website's DataForSEO domain rank (0 to 1000) with its link totals

Root domain only: blog.example.com is checked as example.com.

How it works

No black box. Here's exactly what Website Authority Checker checks.

  1. 1

    You enter a domain

We fold any subdomain or URL into its root domain.

  2. 2

    We ask DataForSEO

One lookup in their backlink index returns the domain rank and the link totals behind it.

  3. 3

You get the number, named honestly

Shown as DataForSEO domain rank on its own 0 to 1000 scale, never relabeled as another vendor's metric.

Why this matters

Authority scores are a quick way to size up a site before you pitch it for a link, compare yourself with a competitor, or judge whether a keyword is realistic. They are third-party estimates from link data, not something Google publishes, so they are most useful for comparing sites measured the same way.

  • Compare a prospect's score with yours before outreach: links from stronger sites usually carry more weight.
  • A big gap with the sites ranking for a keyword is a sign that keyword may take links, not just content.
  • Watch the referring domain count next to the score; the score moves when real sites start linking.

Is this the same as Domain Authority or Domain Rating?

No. Moz Domain Authority and Ahrefs Domain Rating are their own proprietary scores. This page shows DataForSEO's domain rank, on a 0 to 1000 scale, and labels it that way. The scales do not convert into each other.

Does Google use this score?

No. Google does not publish a site-wide authority score and none of these third-party scores are inputs to Google. They approximate the link signals search engines look at, which is why they are useful for comparison.

How do I raise it?

By earning links from more distinct, relevant, well-linked sites. Publishing things people cite, such as original data, free tools and genuinely useful guides, earns those links far more reliably than chasing the number.

How fresh is the number?

Each result shows when the data was fetched. Lookups are cached for up to seven days, and the free tool has a small per-visitor limit and a shared daily budget.

Want the full story across every page?

This checker looks up one domain once. CrawlTide audits your whole site, syncs your backlinks to show what is new or lost, and compares your link profile with your competitors'.
